1. This competition is open to schools under the
Ministry of Education, including full and semi
residential MARA schools nationwide.
2. This competition is open to Forms 1 – 3
students nationwide. Note: Students sitting for the Penilaian
Menengah Rendah (PMR) in 2008 are advised to
consult their teachers and parents before taking
part.
3. Participation must be in groups via schools.
4. Each group should consist of a maximum 8
students (inclusive of actors and crew members)
and 2 supervising teachers.
5. Schools can send in more than 1 entry but
only 1 entry per school will be selected for the
regional level competition.
6. Teachers are not allowed to take part in the
theatre performances but can be part of the
crew.
7. With the exception of Sekolah Menengah Jenis
Kebangsaan (SMJK) type schools, each group from
participating schools should comprise at least 1
Bumiputera student.
8. Groups that are represented by both male and
female students must be accompanied by 1 male
and 1 female teacher.
Sensitivity:
The theatre performance must be free from any
negative elements and must be sensitive to
social, moral, sexual, racial, political and
religious elements of Malaysia.
Props and equipment:
Schools are reminded that elaborate and
excessive use of props and effects including
multimedia presentations are not part of the
criteria and will NOT have any influence on the
judging process.
1. Harmful/potentially harmful and illegal
materials/substances/elements as listed below
are strictly prohibited during the theatre
performance or at the premises of the
competition, both Regional & National levels:-
a. Fire b. Combustible material including explosives and
pyrotechnics c. Dangerous chemicals and/or chemical compounds
that may produce harmful gases, and are
corrosive.
School Rules and Regulations as enforced by the
Ministry of Education:
1. School Rules and Regulations as enforced by
the Ministry of Education will be in force for
all teachers, participants and supporters.
2. Those found in violation of these Rules &
Regulations will be asked to leave the premises. |
