The air was thick with excitement
on Sunday, July 6, when the finalists began arriving in batches at the
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) from across Malaysia for the
finals of the ACTology - Petrosains National Science Theatre Competition.
The five teams from SMK Hamid Khan (Penang), SMKT St. David (Melaka),
SM Sains Machang (Kelantan), SMK Balung (Sabah) and SMK St. Thomas (Sarawak)
were obviously excited and nervous at the same time as they geared up
for the final performance which was to be judged by a distinguished
panel of judges, including the doyenne of Malaysian theatre, Dato’
Faridah Merican herself.
While they were all competitors vying for the same top accolade, the
spirit of camaraderie was high, and many new friendships were forged
over rehearsals and shared meals.
